Professional Profile

Following his first degree in Genetics and Microbiology at Queen Marys College London, Dr Ohiwerei went on to study medicine at Southampton Medical School. On completing his medical degree and prior to starting his training as a GP, Dr Ohiwerei worked for several years at Queen Alexandra Hospital, Portsmouth. It was during this period, while working in the ENT Department, he developed his interest in ENT & skills in microsuction.

Over the past few years, he has worked with the FACE Primary care group in Fareham providing dedicated microsuction clinics. During this time he has worked closely with members of Southern ENT.

Dr Ohiwerei completed his CCT in Wessex and currently works as GP in Fareham.

Alex has a strong background in marketing within the healthcare sector and has worked with Just Ears Clinic since 2017 and moved in house in 2022.

With a great passion for organisation and patient satisfaction, Alex makes sure all our clinics run smoothly and all the team are looked after.

Alison has come to Just Ears Clinic with 21 years experience within the NHS. Her calm and efficient nature means she can help patients, either in clinic or over the phone, to ensure they have everything they need.

Amy currently works at Surrey and Sussex health care as a outpatient nursing assistant. Amy completed her Microsuction training in September 2018 at UCL Ears Nose and throat institution. Amy gained her experience in microsuction while assisting and observing in ENT clinics.

Professional Profile

Mr Repanos trained in North-West England and South-West England as well Perth and Brisbane Australia, prior to being appointed as a Consultant ENT Surgeon in Portsmouth. He has a special interest in Head and Neck Surgery.

Dana joined the team in 2022 with a genuine passion for supporting patients and helping them feel at ease. Known for her friendly and approachable nature, she quickly became a go-to person for patients needing assistance with bookings or any other queries. Dana’s natural ability to connect with people and make them feel comfortable has made her an invaluable part of the team.

Over time, Dana’s passion for improving patients’ lives through better hearing led her to take on the role of Just Ears Hearing Manager. In this new position, she continues to dedicate herself to ensuring that every patient receives the care and attention they deserve, whilst supporting our audiologists with all of their administrative needs.

Donna qualified as a Nurse in 1988 and later studied to become a Social Worker, working in the fields of Health and Disability and Child Protection.  Her interest in ENT came about following her own experiences of the speciality and inspired her to train as a Microsuction Practitioner.  She enjoys seeing people benefit hugely from having the procedure.

Dr Dylan Phillips qualified in medicine from Imperial College London and spent several years training in ENT and Accident and Emergency at London teaching hospitals. He subsequently joined a general practice in Hertfordshire, at the same time becoming a Hospital practitioner (and later, an associate specialist with a special interest in ENT). He Lead and played a key role in setting up a community ENT service in Hertfordshire before retiring to Poole in Dorset a few years ago.

Dr Dylan Phillips came out of retirement to help deliver the Covid vaccination programme, and to our delight and privilege to join our team at Just Ears.

Ellie has come from an NHS background, and has a passion for ensuring patients feel welcomed when visiting for their treatment, whilst ensuring that they are receiving the utmost highest level of customer service via all means of contact to Just Ears.​

Professional Profile

Mr Nilssen completed his undergraduate training at the University of Cape Town in 1987. He has completed ENT training programmes both in South Africa in 1997 and the UK in 2000 with a special interest in Rhinology. He was appointed as a Consultant ENT Surgeon in Portsmouth in September 2000.

Professional Profile

James qualified as a nurse in 2002, graduating from Canterbury Christ Church.

He worked on acute paediatric wards until 2011 when he then switched to ENT (adults and children) and still works in the acute setting for an NHS Trust.

He has a specialist interest in paediatric ENT.

James works in both the Maidstone and Guildford clinics, which he thoroughly enjoys. He takes pride in the service that is offered and would certainly recommend the company to both patients and also as an employer.

Outside Interests

James is a keen supporter of Gillingham Football Club and follows them both home and away.  He spends a lot of time keeping fit and sports.  Like most people, enjoys socialising with friends and family.

Julia trained as a nurse at the Royal Masonic Hospital, Hammersmith and Queen Mary’s Hospital, Roehampton On qualifying, she spent a year working on the ENT ward before moving to Portsmouth. Julia joined Queen Alexandra Hospital staff in 1987, working on the ENT ward for 18 years before gaining her current role as an ENT Nurse Specialist, 2004.

Karen qualified as a nurse in 1984 at Southampton General Hospital.  She has worked in Surgical, Medicine, Midwifery and Community Nursing.

Karen has been a practice nurse at Woolston Lodge Surgery in Southampton since 2017 specialising in respiratory conditions.  Karen has 7 years experience in ear wax removal, training with Just Ears in microsuction when ear irrigation was discontinued.

Karen is very please to be a member of the Just Ears team helping people maintain healthy hearing.

Professional Profile

Marie is qualified as an SEN in 1983 whilst serving in the Armed Forces. Marie joined the NHS in 1993 working in the ENT Department after further training as RGN.  Marie ran the ENT outpatients Department from 2000 to 2017 when retiring from the NHS.

Marie currently maintains a contract with the NHS on a part-time basis whilst also working part-time with Just Ears where she is leading nurse at the Gosport Clinic.

Mark gained his RHAD qualification with a distinction in 1996.

He has worked for most of the large hearing aid dispensing companies for prolonged spells in management, training and mentoring roles.

He is passionate about improving patients’ quality of life he is relishing bringing that level of expertise to Just Ears.

Max is currently completing a placement year at Just Ears as a marketing student with Portsmouth University. Max wants to give the organisation his best efforts over the next year and make sure all the customers he is in contact with are highly satisfied.​

Professional Profile

Mr Pringle qualified from St Georges Hospital Medical School, the University of London in 1983. He gained the Fellowship in General Surgery before proceeding to achieve the Fellowship in ENT Surgery.

He trained in London and the South West and spent a year in Melbourne Australia and has a specialist interest in Ear Surgery (Otology). He was appointed as a Consultant ENT Surgeon at Queen Alexandra Hospital in Portsmouth in December 1996; he is also one of the surgeons at the South of England Cochlear Implant Centre based at Southampton University.

Nicci qualified as a nurse in Bath in 1995 and moved to Chichester a few years later to take a surgical job at St Richards Hospital in Chichester.

She then progressed into management in the private sector and has been the Outpatient sister at
both The Nuffield Hospital in Chichester and The Spire Hospital in Portsmouth before making a
a career change in November 2018 to become a practice nurse in Horndean, Hampshire.

Nicci trained as a Microsuction Practitioner through Just Ears Training Academy and
passed both her practical and theoretical qualification in 2018.

Professional Profile

After graduating from Durham, Philip joined the NHS as a management trainee. His early career was in hospital management at Guy’s and Whipps Cross, before board level appointments in health authorities and trusts in Hampshire.

After completing his Henley MBA Philip joined Bupa, first managing a number of independent hospitals across the South including Portsmouth, Southampton, Farnham and Reading, before later leading on capital investment and new service development. Since 2005, Philip has built up a successful consultancy practice specialising in commercial support to healthcare businesses and organisations. He has a passion for working with medical professionals to improve services for patients.​

Professional Profile

Sandra qualified in 1985 and worked at Queen Alexandra Hospital on the General Surgery Ward before progressing to the ENT Ward. She worked as a Nurse Practitioner and then later as a Health Care Assistant within a GP surgery performing microsuction and general nursing and health care duties.

Sandra has retired from the NHS and works solely for Just Ears as our Lead Nurse in the Emsworth Clinic where she performs Ear Microsuction and makes sure the clinic runs smoothly.

Professional Profile:

Sanjana studied medicine at Imperial College London, whilst also undertaking a BSc in Healthcare Management. Following this, she trained in London, Wessex and Yorkshire and has completed her core surgical training in ENT and gained her MRCS (ENT). She has a keen interest in global health and teaching and gained a PG certificate from Warwick in medical education. She is currently working on her diploma and masters in medical education whilst continuing to practice as locum doctor in ENT.

Tracey, joined the team in November 2023 with a background from Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust. She brings extensive experience to our team at Just Ears Clinic. Her adeptness in handling patient queries, booking appointments, and managing administrative tasks showcases her commitment to delivering exceptional care with a compassionate and approachable demeanour.

Vicky joined the team in August 2022 and comes from an administrative background.  She has a kind and friendly telephone manner and she enjoys welcoming patients to their appointments.

Wendy has over 20 years of experience in both private and NHS sectors. She is a dedicated and empathetic professional committed to patient care. As a Senior Health Care Assistant, Wendy specialised in microsuction, minor surgery, and general nursing. Wendy’s extensive background includes managing patient case loads and contributing to surgical care. Wendy takes pride in her high standards, strong communication skills, and ongoing commitment to professional development.​
